About

Dr. Senthil Kumar has been part of the Department of Physics and Nanotechnology since April 2016. He earned his doctoral degree in Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras. Following his Ph.D., he pursued postdoctoral research at Simon Fraser University, Canada, where he specialized in tuning dopant levels within II-VI semiconductor nanowires using sophisticated techniques such as Metalorganic Chemical Vapor Deposition (MOCVD), low-temperature optical spectroscopy (down to 4 K), and nanoprobing methods. He later held a Brain Korea-21 (BK-21) Fellowship and served as a Research Professor at Yonsei University, South Korea, focusing on the development of strain-tuning methods to enhance the mechanical flexibility of transparent conductive oxide (TCO) films on polymer substrates for use in flexible electronics. Dr. Kumar has received several notable honors, including a DAAD scholarship, the DST-JSPS Visiting Student Fellowship, a Research Fellowship from IIT Madras, and a Merit Award for securing first rank in his M.Sc. Physics program.
