Ms. S Priyadharshini

Priyadharshini S is a research scholar in the Nanotechnology Research Centre at SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRM IST), where she began her doctoral studies in July 2021. She holds a Master’s degree in physics from Avinashilingam University, Coimbatore, and a Bachelor’s degree in physics from PSG College of Arts and Science, also in Coimbatore. Her research focuses on thermoelectric materials and devices, with a particular emphasis on Zintl phase compounds such as Mg3Sb2, Mg3Bi2, ZnSb, as well as traditional Bi2Se3-based materials, aimed at mid-temperature thermoelectric applications. She is proficient in fabricating nanomaterials through both physical and chemical synthesis and integrates a theoretical approach, such as Density Functional Theory (DFT) into her research. She is skilled in operating various instruments such as ball milling, uniaxial hot press, and vacuum sealing system. Her broader research interests include semiconductor-based materials for energy storage applications, with the goal of contributing to sustainable energy solutions for the future.

Research Interest

Development of thermoelectric materials and devices for room to mid-temperature applications with a particular emphasis on Mg3Sb2-based Zintl phase compounds synthesized through various approaches. The primary objectives are to improve thermoelectric performance by employing strategies such as elemental doping, composite formation, and optimization of synthesis techniques.
